This course will give you the knowledge to start exploring glaze chemistry, tweak existing recipes, and develop surfaces that suit your own clay and firing style. No more mystery buckets or hoping for the best—just clear, practical learning to help you move forward.

What we’ll cover:
Day One (9:30am–3:00pm):
• Glaze safety and handling
• Glaze chemistry basics: silica, fluxes, colourants
• How to mix a glaze and test it on tiles
• Tips for colouring and adjusting finishes

Day Two (10:00am–4:00pm):
• Further glaze tests
• Simple application techniques
• Examine and discuss your test tiles from the previous day
• Glaze Q&A over a cup of tea
